Reagan Leigh

She is finally here and I am finally getting around to blogging about it! Decemeber is already a crazy month and when you add in a newborn - wow, we are exhausted!

Her birth story...

I really wanted to wait to go into labor on my own but with my due date quickly approaching and no signs of labor at all - my doctor decided we could go ahead and induce since I didnt have a particulary easy labor with Pierson and he was a very small baby. So I went to the doctor at 9 am on Dec. 7th and found out I would be induced the next morning at 7:30 am. Miss Reagan had plans of her own though because I woke up at 2 am on Dec. 8th and my water broke. So...we headed to the hospital a little early. I was checked in at 4 and a short 6 hours Reagan was here at 10:17 am. It was so much easier this time around and went by so fast I can hardly keep it all straight!

Headed to the hospital...had to get the Christmas decorations in the picture!

She's here! 8lbs 2oz - 20 inches long! So precious!

After here first bath!

Daddy and Reagan getting ready to head home...

Meeting her big brother! He loves her so much, for now! :)

Sweet girl!

We are so in love with our new addition!

2 years old!

A couple of weeks ago my little man turned 2!! He is SO much fun these days and Nate and I constantly talk about how we don't want him to get any older. His vocabulary has really picked up and he is learning all sorts of new words, he surprises me daily with a new word that I had no idea he knew! Today he was jumping in the pantry saying, "Mommy reach!" I just looked at him and thought - when did you learn reach and how in the world did you know what context to use it in? It is amazing what they pick up from you! I made him blueberry pankcakes for his birthday breakfast...clearly not impressed!

Then he got to open a couple of presents that day from us and the rest we waited to open until his family birthday party the next day! He LOVES spiderman!

We also took him to the Big Orange Pumpkin Farm in Celina on his birthday and besides having to sit in the pumpkins for pictures he loved it! I would highly recommend it for everyone! They had a petting zoo, hay ride, train ride, lunch and pumpkins - we spent a couple of hours there and he probably could have stayed longer if it wasn't nearing nap time!
He aslo got a Little Tikes car from TP and Posh and LOVES it! Probably his favorite gift overall. He calls it his "Elmo Car" because it is red and has big eyes on the front. I can see how it looks a little like Elmo! :)
Some things I want to remember about him at this age...
- At his 2 year apt he was 29.7 lbs and 34 1/4 inches.
- He LOVES Elmo (Melmo), Dora (Dor Dor), and Diego (Ga Ga) and would spend a lot of his time watching them if we let him!
- He LOVES to go watch Nate play basketball and asks daily if we are going to go "Watch Daddy Shoot Ball."
- He loves to watch football (bootball) or baseball (ba ball) with Nate while eating popcorn.
- He is really into many sports and if we go to the playground would rather shoot the basketball (he is lucky that his dad is 6'4'' and can lift him to the goal) or kick the soccer ball (cocerball) instead of actually play on the playground.
- He doesn't like chocolate at all and won't eat much cake, icecream or cookies but LOVES candy like skittles and gummy worms.
- He was diagnosed with asthma this month and has to take an inhaler morning and night which he calls his "orange nana" or orange medicine.
- He knows some of his colors - green, blue, red, orange, purple, and pink.
- He can count to 5.
- He repeats many of the things we say. For example, Nate was watching the Rangers the other day and said "Come on Cliff!" and Pierson said it right back! Makes you think twice before you say something.
- He really loves Bentley (Bent-ben), unless he has food and she is trying to snatch it.
- One of his favorite things to do is play upstairs with his Daddy and every night after dinner he looks at Nate and says, "Daddy all done. Come on Daddy, upstairs."
- He loves to have donuts (nonuts) and mil for breakfast. Here he is wearing his football shirt and just learned how to say Gigem Aggies!
- He goes to school on Tuesdays and Thursdays but is very attached to his momma and still cries every time I drop him off. He does this at church too. When we take the exit for school I can usually hear, "No, school!" in the back of the car.
- He loves to help daddy build and take apart things. This has been happening a lot in our house since we moved him to his big boy bed and moved all the baby furniture into baby girls room.
- And, last he will be spiderman for Halloween this year. Here he is showing us his muscles.
Pierson, we love you so much and can't believe how big you are! You are such as joy to our lives and make us laugh all the time! We can't imagine life without you and know you are going to be a wonderful big brother!

Update and Vacation

We have been busy around the Hall household! I am very ready for the summer to be over and get some cooler temps with the fall. Nate and I headed up to Seattle last week to visit my sister and her family and the weather was amazing. We also spent some time in Victoria, BC, which was absolutely beautiful!

This is Bucthart Gardens - so pretty! 26 weeks pregnant here...

A street band in front of the original Starbucks in Pikes Market - they were amazing, especially the guy playing the wash tub base with a duct tape glove - very cost effective! :)

At the Seattle aquarium - very fun!

A view - you just don't see stuff like this in Dallas!

Pierson has also grown so much in the last few months and we can't believe how much fun he is! He seriously bring so much joy to our family and I just can't imagine what it will be like with 2! I am going to do a 2 year post next month to help us remember all the wonderful things about him!

Watching Diego in Mommy and Daddy's bed...one of his favorite things to do. He is also sporting a cars band aid - no boo boo, just a band aid.

Enjoying an Oreo. I love his big brown eyes in this picture!
Making sure to get ALL of the icing!

A spontaneous run through the sprinklers in his pajamas! When they turned off he kept asking for more war-war (water)...he loves playing in the water.
We also experienced our first day of school! He acted like he was excited about it until we dropped him off, that is when the hysterical crying and clinging started! He wasn't so sure what to think about it but his teachers said he had a great first day! Today I dropped him off with no tears - a success!

So Different...

20 weeks
This pregnancy has been so different from the last! This little one made me SO sick for the first 14 weeks of my pregnancy which I didn't have with Pierson at all. I also started showing earlier (which they happens with your second) but this time it is like I have a basketball in my stomach. I also noticed (after my friend Emily mentioned it) that the hair on my legs is growing at an incredibly slow pace...so weird. So all of these things led me to think that maybe I was having a girl but I didn't want to get my hopes up. So, I just told myself that it was a boy (which I would have been so happy with)!
So on July 29th we had THE appointment...what was it going to be? We went to the appointment and had the sonographer put the gender in an envelope and then we were headed to Via Real (great mexican food place by where I used to work) to meet some of our immediate family. We gave the envelope to the waiter and let me know that if it was a boy we wanted fajitas and if it was a girl we wanted enchiladas. My dad ordered fajitas just to make sure we wouldn't know what it was before they put the plates in front of us. And then it came...

IT'S A GIRL!!
I was SO shocked and couldn't believe it! We are so excited to have a little girl and I can't wait to decorate a nursery and buy all the cute girl things! We are still deciding on a name for her and I am hoping to post more about our sweet little girl in the coming weeks!

Fun on the Farm and Germs!

A few weeks ago we spent the day at my uncles farm and Pierson LOVED it! He loves animals and had no problem sitting on the horse and petting it! Then he went "mimming daddy" (swimming with daddy) and had his very first red velvet cupcake!

In other news, my child is officially a GERM MAGNET! I dont even know where he catches these things but last week he got Hand, Foot, and Mouth for the THIRD time! Most kids dont even get this stuff once but not my sweet boy! This led to some major congestion and we found out that his tubes were no longer working so he then proceeded to get a double ear infection! So...yesterday, after multiple doctors appointments, he had another set of tubes put in and had his adenoids removed. It was not a complicated surgery and we are back at home and hopefully after another day of rest today we will be on the mend. So far in his short 21 months he has had 2 surgeries and been hospitalized once - we are hoping this may help and some of his sickness will come to an end!
