So Different...

20 weeks
This pregnancy has been so different from the last! This little one made me SO sick for the first 14 weeks of my pregnancy which I didn't have with Pierson at all. I also started showing earlier (which they happens with your second) but this time it is like I have a basketball in my stomach. I also noticed (after my friend Emily mentioned it) that the hair on my legs is growing at an incredibly slow pace...so weird. So all of these things led me to think that maybe I was having a girl but I didn't want to get my hopes up. So, I just told myself that it was a boy (which I would have been so happy with)!
So on July 29th we had THE appointment...what was it going to be? We went to the appointment and had the sonographer put the gender in an envelope and then we were headed to Via Real (great mexican food place by where I used to work) to meet some of our immediate family. We gave the envelope to the waiter and let me know that if it was a boy we wanted fajitas and if it was a girl we wanted enchiladas. My dad ordered fajitas just to make sure we wouldn't know what it was before they put the plates in front of us. And then it came...

IT'S A GIRL!!
I was SO shocked and couldn't believe it! We are so excited to have a little girl and I can't wait to decorate a nursery and buy all the cute girl things! We are still deciding on a name for her and I am hoping to post more about our sweet little girl in the coming weeks!

Fun on the Farm and Germs!

A few weeks ago we spent the day at my uncles farm and Pierson LOVED it! He loves animals and had no problem sitting on the horse and petting it! Then he went "mimming daddy" (swimming with daddy) and had his very first red velvet cupcake!

In other news, my child is officially a GERM MAGNET! I dont even know where he catches these things but last week he got Hand, Foot, and Mouth for the THIRD time! Most kids dont even get this stuff once but not my sweet boy! This led to some major congestion and we found out that his tubes were no longer working so he then proceeded to get a double ear infection! So...yesterday, after multiple doctors appointments, he had another set of tubes put in and had his adenoids removed. It was not a complicated surgery and we are back at home and hopefully after another day of rest today we will be on the mend. So far in his short 21 months he has had 2 surgeries and been hospitalized once - we are hoping this may help and some of his sickness will come to an end!

We're Back!

It has been a while and a WHOLE lot has happened! I thought I would just start with 2010 and not go all the way back...so here are some pics to go along with the updates!

January
- Decided we were going to sell our house

- Pierson went to the hospital for RSV and pneumonia, he was there 4 days and this was towards the end of his stay when he was feeling MUCH better.

February
-We sold our house in ONE day! It was amazing but we had no where to go!
-It snowed alot (I think that was in February)

- Nate and I went on a vacation without Pierson - It was AMAZING!

March
-We played and rode on Daddy's back
April
-Found out we were expecting baby #2!! Due sometime around Dec. 10th!
-We moved to an apartment!
-Easter!
-Pierson was a champ and caught on very quickly - I LOVED watching him hunt for eggs.

May
-Looked for a home!
-We cuddled and read books...and fed ducks at the apartment complex.
June
-Went on vacation with my family! So much fun!

-Eating ice cream on the train ride!

-Driving the boat with TP!

-Grams skiing! Yes, that is my mom, a grandmother skiing and she normally skis on one ski but had to use 2 because the pontoon boat didnt have enough horsepower! She is amazing!
After vacation we came home and moved the next day into our new house! That would be why I am blogging after so long! I so don't want to unpack another box!
I am going to be updating more so I can keep track of this pregnancy like I did with Pierson! Hopefully it won't be another 6 months!

Lately...

The last few weeks have been busy ones for the Halls. We are loving this fall weather and taking full advantage by spending lots of time outside!

Pierson had his first haircut and he was such a good boy! Not a single tear (maybe because I bribed him with a little snack)! I was so proud of him and he is just so stinkin' cute!

The finished product - it was a great cut and by this time he was about ready to go so the paci had to come out!

Pierson has also started helping around the house a little more. :)

And eating with a spoon - he LOVES to feed himself - I am just not the biggest fan, what a mess!

Still loves taking a bath!

And still loves playing with Bentley!

But...did not like his Halloween costume. We finally put it on him once he was well just so we could take some pictures of what could have been - maybe it was a good thing he was sick! :)

Nate and I also celebrated our 5th anniversary! We went to Ft. Worth and loved it. We went to the Japanese Water Gardens, a movie, dinner, and stayed in a great hotel! I was asleep by 10 and woke up at 9 the next morning!! That was by far the best part of the weekend - things change when you have kids! I love this man more every year and I am so incredibly grateful for him!

Halloween 2009...fail

So Halloween 2009 didn't go quite as planned in the Hall household. Nate and I were scheduled to attend a Halloween party on Friday night and then Pierson was going to get all cute in his lion costume and we were going to head to Prestonwood's fall festival - complete with petting zoo! I was so excited to show him the animals and watch all of his expressions.

Back track to Wednesday before Halloween - another fever. Seriously again - my child catches EVERYTHING! So we put him to bed with some motrin and see how he is the next morning . Thursday morning, not looking so good but I am trying to convince myself that he is just teething again because he goes 10 hours without fever! YEAH! Halloween with still happen! Friday morning he wakes up with horrible blisters all over his mouth and then I start to notice that are on the inside as well - great. We are headed to the doctor...again. Friday morning he is diagonsed with hand, foot, and mouth disease. I hate the word disease it makes it sound so horrible! It is a virus that causes fever, blisters on your hands, feeth, and mouth (imagine that!) and a rash. It is highly contagious of course and since it is a virus you have to just wait it out.

So no Halloween party for the parents and no festival or costume for the little man. And yes, I did throw myself a pitty party! :)

Here is one of the pictures we took on Halloween - I am very jealous of all the cute costume pics of all of my friends kids! We are still going to take pictures in the costume - just havent gotten around to it yet - not quite as fun! Looking forward to Halloween 2010!

Here is a better one...a better picture of his face - he is still pretty cute! :)

Fridays at the Arboretum

For the past couple of weeks my sister and I have been taking the kids to the Arboretum on Fridays! We pack a lunch and just hang out for a few hours. We also used it as an opportunity to get some shots in the pumpkin patch but Pierson was not interested, either time!

What is this stuff?
No thank you!

Sitting in the hay is ok.

The next Friday - Take 2, still not interested!

With Landry and Grams.

He still loves water and loved sticking his hand in the water coming out the frogs mouth! We love this video because it captures his contagious laugh! (Sorry about the poor quality - blogger wont upload the orginal!)

1 year and a Birthday party!

Pierson is ONE! We truly can't believe how fast time has gone and we are so greatful for our blessing. He is so much fun these days but has definately started showing some attitude! He is getting so big and really starting to let us know what he wants and doesn't want!

- Every time he see my coffee cup in the morning is says 'pot', his version of hot.

- He also loves to ask for a 'bite' of whatever you are eating.

- Everything that is a circle or round is a ball, "Ba".

- He still LOVES to point and points at EVERYTHING!

- He is a super fast crawler but has no interest in walking at all. He can get there so much faster by crawling.

- He still loves Bentley and chases her around the living room.

- He is eating more and more big boy foods and now drinking milk from a cup - no more formula!

- He loves for you to chase him and say "I'm going to get you!" and he cralls as fast as he can away.

- He signs "All Done" when he is full.

- When all of his food is gone he will raise both hands in the air, which means "All Gone."

- He still loves to give kisses.
- He LOVES school and his teacher Mrs. Legha.
- He will take a cell phone and hold up it to his ear and does it when you say "hello."

- He is not too into his toys right now and would rather get into everything he isnt supposed to.

- He is a little dare devil and isn't scared of diving head first of a couch, slide, etc.
- He LOVES his blanket and is very attached to it.

Playing in a box! So much fun!

Sitting in the rocking chair that was in mommy's nursery when she was a baby.

He loves his slide!

Jumping off something while I was taking a picture - no fear!

Drinking Mommy's water.

We had a wonderful time throwing him his 'Monkey' themed birthday party. It was supposed to be at a park but the temps never got out of the 50's so we decided to move it to our house. It was pretty packed but still fun!

Birthday breakfast at Starbucks! We didnt know that Krispy Kreme had closed and Starbucks was next door.

Monkey cake!
Hanging out with Grandpa.

He loved the cake but wasnt too excited about getting messy.

SOOO many presents!

A rocking horse!
Can't wait to see what the next year brings!
